In this unprecedented 18 months, we have seen a wonderful increase in engagement from our international members, and with this seminar, we would like to celebrate this. Preceding the AGM, there will be a series of short talks from geological curators around the world, highlighting how the past few months have changed the way we all work, and hopefully stimulating a lively discussion

Notice is hereby given that the 48^th Annual General Meeting of the Geological Curators’ Group will be held online at 4pm, on the 30th November 2021. All Committee posts (except Chair) are renewed annually. Nominations for the posts of Committee Members must be made by two members of the Group and submitted in writing or by email to the Secretary, Emma Bernard (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), by 9^th November 2021. Items proposed for inclusion on the Agenda should be submitted to the Secretary as above.

14:45	.	Waiting room opens - you will be e-mailed details shortly before the event. Please join with your microphone muted and set your screen name to the same name that you registered with
15:00		The seminar will start promptly at three o-clock, with the following talks: Interesting failures in the study of “pyrite disease” R. Chris Tacker, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, USA. Sir Arthur Russell – a British mineralogical hero Roy Starkey, Scientific Associate, Natural History Museum, London, UK. “Locating in lockdown” – improving collections metadata at the British Geological Survey Simon Harris, Collections Conservation and Digitisation Manager, British Geological Survey. While the public’s away, the conservators will play Lu Allington-Jones, Senior Conservator, Natural History Museum, London UK.
16:00		The AGM will immediately follow the seminar. Here we will discuss GCG business. All relevant documents may be downloaded here. All are welcome, but only active GCG members can vote.
