GCG Neurodiversi-tea Celebration!

As part of Neurodiversity Celebration Week, please join the GCG for a virtual coffee morning to create space and conversation for neurodivergent celebration in geological collections. All neurodiversities and allies are welcome, with a relaxed and open space. There will be light conversation prompts covering experiences, accommodations, and recommendations to spark conversation, however cameras and microphones are optional, whatever is most comfortable for you!

Symposium on Toarcian Palaeobiology

The Symposium on Toarcian Palaeobiology is an opportunity to platform the diversity of global Toarcian palaeontological research by spotlighting underrepresented fields such as the marine benthos, the terrestrial realm, and the ecological impacts of the Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event, alongside popular fields including ammonites and marine reptiles, as well as curatoration and prepartion of Toarcian material. The event will consist of two days of single session talks and posters, with a lunchtime workshop on the second day, and a full day workshop on the final day offering the opportunity to explore the Charles Moore collection of specimens from Strawberry Bank.

How can partnerships help us and our collections develop?
The Winter Seminar will focus on building and maintaining relationships between individuals, institutions and networks. By working together and sharing knowledge, we benefit from collective experience. But what works and what doesn’t? How should this knowledge be disseminated?
We are looking for presentations that encompass the following themes, from anyone who works, volunteers or has an interest in geological collections:
• Citizen Science
• Cross-department endeavours
• Collecting networks/local groups
• Community outreach
• Multi-museum partnerships
• Research collaborations
• Subject Specialist Networks (SSNs)
• Volunteer projects
